Re[2]: Reviews for kids and other things

Di anyone on this thread mention Shari, Lois, And Brams Chanukkah CD (titled
something like Lights of Long Ago).

I thought it was quite cute.

Recently I submitted some recordings to The Los Angeles Times for reviewing in
the children's holiday issue. These are the reporters comments in today's
                                        Los Angeles Times,Dec. 10, 1998.

"Di Grine Katshke"-(The Green Duck)-A special find. Playful and soulful animal
songs charmingly performed by noted Yiddish singers and Klezmer musicians. In
Yiddish;lyric translations provided. ((The reporter called me as soon as she
heard this CD and told me that even though she is not Jewish and of course,
doesn't understand one word of Yiddish, she thought that this one of the best
recordings (Jewish or not) she had received in a long time. **

"Zing Along With Cindy Paley: Yidddish Folk songs for the Family." Perfomed by
veteran children's recording artist Paley. contains transliteratins and lyrics
in Yiddish.

" Chanuka Favorites With Judy Caplan Ginsburgh" Ginsburgh's lovely voice and
warmth make these traditional and comtemporary seasonal songs especially
appealing for young children; in Hebrew and English, tranliteration included.
(By the way, Judy just released a wonderful recording for kids called "Havdala
Pajama"; great kids recording!)

**Though we only received "Di Grine Katshke" about 2 months ago this looks to
be one of our "Top Ten" sellers for the year. Since Hatikvah does specialize
in Yiddish recordings, I expect this to be a year 'round seller for many years
to come.

There is a new reocrding by the "Jewish Rap Parody Group".. 2 Live Jews called
"Christmas Jews". This is a parody recording performed to Xmas melodies. the
content is "Jewish comedy", but it might be offensive to some people. I have a
few copies behind the counter (under the counter) which were sent to me by the
producer, a friend. This is NOT traditional Chanukah Music;, but if you like
Dr. Demento, this is for you.
