The Ramah Day Camp in Nyack, NY, is looking for a music person to do
songleading this summer. It is an interesting place to work, as the
children leave by 4 p.m., but the staff lives at camp (most of them),
creating a camp within a camp, allowing for staff opportunities to learn
and play without the children. The camp is located in Rockland County,
about 45 minutes from Manhattan, an easy commute for those who might
live in the area and not want to stay in camp.
I am there for the first part of the summer, where I direct a campwide
Zimriyah, which will take place this year in mid-July.
The songleader is responsible for daily singing at arrival and lunch, as
well as small group song sessions, especially once the Zimriyah is over.
Staff ranges in age from late teens to much later adults! Campers range
in age from entering kindergarten to 8th grade, total of about 650
children. It is a nice place to work, the music is an integral part of
camp and well-supported.
If you or anyone you know would be interested, please contact me
privately via e-mail.
Thanks and shabbat shalom,
Carole Rivel
