Re: funding



It has been my experience that if you have even somewhat regular contact
with an organization, they will be excited that you are putting forth the
effort to further your education, and therefore will be willing to offer
you some compensation for events such as Hava Nashira. When I did work for
my local BJE, there was talk of them sending me, many summer camps cover
their songleaders' tuition, and I imagine many temples would be willing to
at least help. Perhaps you should consider committing to a few weekends for
them in return. If your area is really songleader-starved, then it becomes
a worthwhile deal for them.
