I lead songs once a week at a local synagogue.  Last year they paid half of my
tuition.  Since I live so close to OSRUI, they didn't have to pay for
transportation.

Our local Jewish Federation also offers scholarships for such conferences, and
they usually only cover tuition.

Of course, you could ask more than one institution to defray part of the cost,
so that two or three could pay most of it for you.  Just be careful not to
make a profit on the deal!
