I guess it is time for me to come out of cyperspace and introduce
myself, having read about others on this list for some time now.
My name is Carole Rivel, I live in New Rochelle, NY, in Westchester
County, an area which is close to Manhattan. I have been involved in the
Jewish music world in the NY Metropolitan area for a number of years.
Currently I am a music specialist at the Abraham Joshua Heschel School,
a pluralistic day school in Manhattan. I am also the Music Director at
Camp Ramah in Nyack, NY, a day camp, and produce the major Zimriyah
(song festival) there each summer. Fellow CAJE-niks know me as the
person who gets to accompany Debbie Friedman for the CAJE Chorale and
during her workshops. Now that Debbie is in New York, I am fortunate
enough to also be able to work with her for healing services and other
events in the NY area (NOT concerts, Carnegie, etc.).
I work at other synagogues and schools, putting programs together,
musical direction for plays, one-time events, and so on. If there were
another few days in the week, I am sure that I could fill them with more
jobs! At this point in my life, I don't think I could manage any more
days, so I am just as happy to leave things as they are!
Looking forward to hearing more about all of you out there..........
B'shalom,
Carole
