[HANASHIR:15658] RE: More Software and technical questions

Ilana:

I'm a bit confused by your message. What software are you looking at that
can "do the whole package" ? And what, exactly, is the "whole" package. You
speak only of two items--electronic transcription of music, and the ability
to digitally record material from your MDs. No program can do the second.
Period. So I'm confused as to what you found that seems an answer to your
prayers?

FWIW, Finale 2004 is out now and is the best incarnation of the program yet.
Forget the steep learning curve if you're only interested in using it for
simple transcription. Learning how to do that is now easier than ever. It is
also capable of saving files as .wav or AIFF which can be burned directly to
a music CD and played.

As far as digital recording studio software, you can't beat Cakewalk Sonar,
which does almost everything that the even more expensive programs like
CuBase do, but for less money (still not cheap, however.)

Be more specific about the applications you've been looking at,. And maybe
some of us can help you out a bit more.

Shabbat Shalom,

Adrian
