Re:Klezmer and the scheme of things

New thread I hope.

It troubles me greatly how little play our music gets in the larger scheme
of things, in the mainstream.


Shouldn't the best of our musicians be nominated for Grammys and such?

What makes it all the more troubling is that many of the people of influence
in the music industry, in radio and TV, in Hollywood are Jews.

Is there anything we can be doing to awaken their consciousness, sense of
roots and ethnic pride? Has anybody on the list tried and failed?  Perhaps
we can learn from each other.
