So, btw, was their keyboard man, Mark Naftalin, whose dad was the first
(and thus far only) Jewish mayor of Minneapolis, a city that had
previously been notorious as a hotbed of anti-Semitism.  Thanks to Steve
Barnett for reminding me of this fact.  Steve also thought Bob Dylan
ought to be mentioned in this context, given the number of blues in his
early repertoire.
