Yes, Simon, but independent artists are also at the mercy of store owners
who won't carry their CD...

(albeit five stars from the Jewish Week and other critical awards of
excellence).  MP3 is, or was, a way for an artist to be out there in the
real world, where quality will find it's own level. Where the chance to be
heard (and bought!) is not up to one store owner, or one publisher.  There
were over 36,000 hits on my MP3 page... leading to real CD sales and much,
mcuh more...   Thank G-d for the internet, MP3 and companies like CD Baby -
or else people like me would eek nothing more than bubkes.
