A Gitn Purim

Khaveyrim:

In keeping with the season, a little "purimspiel" not as well known as the
popular "Heynt it Purim..."

I collected this fromYolanda Rosenschein, whom I met at a senior camp in the
Poconos. She came from the same town in Hungary, Munkac, as my grandfather.
She remembered saying this for treats on Purim (recorded verbatim with the
typical accent):

A gitn Purim malakh
Vi ikh gey falakh.

Falakh af di shteyner
Tzibrekht af mir di beyner.

Falakh afn gluz
Tzibrekht af mir den nuz.

I hope your holiday was as merry, but not as calamitous!

-Steve
