I am looking for a teacher who would enjoy teaching voice lessons by way
of Yiddish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Romanian and/or other Eastern European
folk songs. After admiring so much the beautiful and heartfelt singing
of the ladies of Yiddish song (particularly Yid Vicious' rendition of
"Papir iz Doch Vays" among others), I would love to give it a try. I
come from a musical background and can at least sing on key but have had
no formal training in singing or much knowledge of any of the languages
I've listed above. I hope to learn through learning lyrics! I would
like to commit myself to learning this to the end of possibly joining
Yiddish singing or folk groups in Los Angeles or even to just have the
enjoyment and fulfillment of having music in my life again!
I am interested in hourly lessons preferrably after work or weekend
hours within the Greater Los Angeles area.
Again, I'm a complete novice, but I am willing and eager to learn from a
good teacher! :)
Thank you!!!
Jill
