Re: dance of death

Nokhamol sholem aleykhem ale,

I haven't seen Dybbuk for a couple of years -- but wasn't the dance
performed at a wedding because the dead ancestors were invited to share in
the joy -- in Leah's case, her mother Khannele, who died in childbirth and
was hence invited to the wedding. In the Moscow Art Theatre expressionistic
interpretation the dance merges into the mystical possession of Leah by
Khonon. Am I right on that???

In the last couple of centuries it was more commonly called The Dance of

Has anybody heard about a "dance of death" played by klezmorim at Jewish
weddings?
