Re: New Cd from David Krakauer

David's new CD 'The Twelve Tribes' is already available in Europe on Le Label Bleu.  A US release date has not yet been confirmed, but the disc will be released on Le Label Bleu / Hyperion.

Just to clarify:  the track written after 911 is entitled 'The New Year After' and is based upon David's experience of the moving sound of the shofar in New York on Rosh Hashanah 2001 (18th September)

The track 'Tribe No 13' is a really exciting marriage of bulgar beats and 12 bar blues.

The cd includes several more original compositions including 'Table Pounding' which evokes the hypnotic trance-like state reached when singing nigunim - such heights of tranced-out-ness in fact that it feels as if the table is rising of its own accord and the banging fists are struggling to hold it down...

There's also some fantastically spirited renditions of a couple of well-known klezmer tunes... and other less well-known gems of klezmer repertoire (particularly the super funky, quirky take on Moskowitz's gypsy bulgar)

The album ends with a chaser of hiphop klezmer madness courtesy of DJ So-Called (of So-Called Seder fame...) & DK...

the Madness sound has really come together and this album totally rocks....
