Re: "redux"

>From the AMERICAN HERITAGE DICTIONARY, 4TH ED., "redux": "brought back /
returned"

from the RANDOM HOUSE UNABRIDGED: "brought back / resurgent"

from MERRIAM-WEBSTER COLLEGE, 10TH ED.: "brought back"

*and from WEBSTER'S NEW WORLD, often the most sensitively written:

"that has been brought back / revived / restored"*

And cf. the recently released (movie) "Apocalypse Now Redux"; reviews with
titles like "Mr. Goodbar Redux" (from THE ATLANTIC); and, of course, John
Updike's RABBIT, REDUX.

"Redux" should definitely be assumed to be an entirely au courant, kosher
usage in English!

--Robert Cohen, sometime lexicographer

>So "Redux" seems to be saved for the English language!
