interesting.

i always loved klezmer/jewish music -- i heard it all the time when i was a 
kid, singing all the time in the house, and going to bar mitzvahs and concerts, 
but it was only in 10th or 11th grade that i could turn on a klezmer record at 
home and be able to "hear" it. maybe some forms of music are better suited to 
live performance than others. i dunno. i find i have a better time listening to 
modern jazz (in my definition, that's everything post-"dance era") on a CD than 
at a concert.
