Hi, Sam,
Assuming you're back from Klez Camp (I had wondered about that), two
questions:
1) I was intrigued by your "Songs of the Holocaust" program of November 11th
and sorry I couldn't be there (I'm more often in Boston--as I was then--than
[even] in NYC), and I'm wondering whether you distributed handouts with your
commentary on the text, music, background, etc., of the material you sang.
If so, is that something you wouldn't mind sending a copy of? Hardly the
same as hearing the music (and I'm assuming [?] you don't have an audio- or
videotape], but I'm sure I'd still benefit from reading. Let me know, and
thanks.
2) As previously inquired: Where, if I may ask, did you find scholarly
discussion of the possibility of "Ma'oz Tsur's" starting out as a hymn for
Shavuot? Seems, as I wrote earlier, an anomalous possibility, as that's one
holiday that's *not* referred to in the text!
Please advise whenever you have the time.
Thanks and best wishes,
Robert Cohen
