I believe that this and all the other mini-disc posts do not answer the
original question which was about a "mini-tape" recorder. Years ago my
father had one, I believe. The tape was like the tape on some answering
machines and was really designed for, and only suitable for, spoken word
recording.
Of course, the test is in the taping. Try it out if you can.
