Re: "Jewish" Violin Music



The cd mentioned by Sandra has several compositions by Joseph Achron based
on Jewish melodies, as well as a number that aren't. Hagai Shaham's
interpretation is also worth listening to, even if you've heard others such
as Perlman, Heifetz or Elman play some of these.

The most well known piece is Hebrew Melody. Others of note include Hebrew
Lullaby and Hebrew Dance. Hagai Shaham's performance of Hebrew Dance is
breathtaking.
