how to reply to messages

Hi,

Consider this your annual reminder that when you are responding to a message, 
it is =most= useful, after pressing the "reply" key, to delete ALL of the old 
message (and the 20 messages clinging to the bottom of it) EXCEPT for the one 
line or two that gives your new message context.

This not only makes your own comments more clear, but is a vast relief to those 
people who might otherwise miss your comment at the top or bottom of 20 pages 
of extraneous, and by now irrelevant, other stuff.

Brevity remains the soul of wit and the mother of clarity, here as elsewhere.
