"Drag" is American slang for
women's clothing worn by a man.
As in "drag queen", --which I assume
you would be familiar with, living in NYC.
"=Bube and zayde= drag" refers to the many
klezmer musicians pretending to be
their grandparents (by playing their music and
wearing their clothes).
