i tend to use the word album for almost anything that has about ten or so 
songs on it.  anything with about six songs i refer to as an "EP".  sometimes 
if a group has several of both, i call one a "full-length album" and the 
other an EP.  album can refer to CDs, tapes, records (aka "vinyl" or 
"wax")...  peace!  --j.
