Hi, welcome back. In case your band isn't sick of klezmer yet, here's what
they can do next week to "keep the buzz." Deadline will be extended for
Klezmaniacs!
(Last chance to register!)
New England Conservatory's
INTERCULTURAL INSTITUTE
presents
Bessarabian Klezmer Music Workshop
July 24?July 28 with Hankus Netsky, Michael Alpert, Edward Kagansky, and
German Goldenshteyn.
Back by popular demand from last summer's Intercultural Institute: a
rare opportunity to learn little-known European klezmer repertoire from
master musicians! We will explore the roots, history, and revival of
klezmer music along with modal, improvisational, and arranging concepts and
traditional dance steps.
The institute is open to all instrumentalists and singers. Although the
classes are demanding, no prior experience with klezmer repertoire is
expected or required. Participants from all backgrounds, musical and
non-musical, are welcome. Go to
www.newenglandconservatory.edu/summer/appdownload.html to download a
registration form or to www.newenglandconservatory.edu/summer/index.html for
NEC's summer school website. You may also call 617-585-1126 for more
information and information about housing.
Tuition: $500
