Re: Do we need printed klezmer music?

Absolutely, positively YES for a lot of people. Listening over and over is
great but sometimes seeing it written down, at least the stripped down
melodic lines, is very helpful to someone classically trained who is serious
about learning the music. The fact that people have different musical
backgrounds leads to the logical conclusion that some are more adept or
comfortable learning one way over another. There is no RIGHT WAY to learn.

>From a strictly historical point of view, one can only imagine how many great
tunes have been lost because there was no written material before recordings
were possible.

The more that is written down and available, the better.
