Re: Oboes in klezmer music



I think Skip is right.  The melody of the first half of Sam Musiker's "Der 
Yeminite Tants" (the part that's in 3/8 time) is played on an oboe.  I also 
hear a bassoon in there as well.  The second half of the piece is a Gene 
Krupa-influenced bulgar, with Sam Musiker's clarinet carrying the melody.
