RE: klez go classical

When I read this I thought you had already read my next remarks even though
I didn't hadn't sent it off. "Demoralizing" is the exact description of
the experience for some of us in the audience. I was definitely
demoralized. Yes, the Argentines were absolutely incredible and certainly
worth the whole trip to Toronto, but I can't say that it made up for it.
The fuss and focus that was made over that concert with the "commissions"
was disturbing to me and to other klezmer I found out later. It really
tells you where some musicians' heads are being pushed to and it is not a
productive way to go, IMHO. And we had to pay $20 for that one yet.

I haven't bought the Argentine's CD yet, but I highly, highly recommend it
to everyone. It was a real highlight of the festival and the packed
audiences could have gone on for days.

Yes, Reyzl I too heard that cacophony (of sound) in Toronto and found it to
be demoralizing.
Ah, but there was some brilliant Argentine musicians who made up for any
lapse
in taste.
