chairs and weddings

It is interesting to find out that the bride is carried on a chair to avoid 
exerting herself.  I was reading an article about the mitzvah tanz.  The 
author describes a Rabbi Motali (1770-1838) of Chernobyl who had the habit 
of dancing with the bride for over an hour at a time.  He kept dancing even 
if she had to stop from exhaustion!  That may explain why she would need to 
sit down for the remainder of the evening.
