Re: Jewish Liturgical Music

I had just begun putting aside a few CDs and cassettes and hadn't yet
gotten to the LPs. But I remember having used a Yehoram Gaon album
version of Adon Olam in the past. Thanks for the suggestion.

As to David Abikzer, I wasn't even aware of this album. I should have
expected Joel to give send me on a search. Does anyone have an email
address for Hed Arzi on the odd chance that a cassette version is
still available? (I have just emailed the Webmaster of their Hebrew
language web site at nf (at) hedarzi(dot)co(dot)il . I hope that works). I
believe that David Abikzer is a hazzan for a congregation on Long
Island. Does anyone have current contact info for him? (I guess that
I could get that from information.)

I had seen the Renanot list of their cassettes. I believe that they
sent me a copy in response to an email request. Quite impressive. In
fact, extraordinary. I don't remember how many listings there were,
but I think that I'd have to dip into our daughter's college fund to
make a dent. Any suggestions as to which in particular might suit our
purposes? Does anyone know if any libraries have any copies?

As with Joel's Ladino discography, I can already see that this has the
potential of becoming a far greater enterprise than originally
anticipated. Which was simply to browse and listen to my own
collection -- already exposed as quite deficient. Again, I wonder
what my wife will say.
