I haven't heard "In the Fiddler's House," although I saw some of the PBS
documentary. Perlman's playing is closer to klezmer than the hilariously
bad LP Yehudi Menuhin did with Stephane Grappelli in the late '70s; nice
tone Yehudi, but you just don't swing.

the theses, the books of criticism, the reviewers, the book
pages -- all this vast and proliferating edifice is because
of this small, patronized, put-down and underpaid person.'"
