Re: How do I find the Ofra Haza FAQ ?

I did attend one concert that Ofra gave here in Los Angeles a few years
ago. Unfortunately she used local musicians who did not know the music all
that well (they were reading off of SHEET MUSIC!) and some of the music
they used in the concert was recorded music and Ofra just sang along with
it.

Back in April, I believe, of 1993, she was supposed to appear at a local
music club in Redondo Beach called "The Strand". It was printed in the
paper. I called to ask the ticket price and they told me that she show had
been cancelled (no explanation given) and that it would be rescheduled at
a later date. I have not seen or heard anything about Ofra appearing
anywhere in the States since then. Apparently she's been doing a lot of
recording with a lot of different folks (including rap "artists", which
I'm not too proud of).

For recordings of Ofra's (and just about anyone else in Israeli pop/rock),
write or call to:

Hataklit
457 N. Fairfax Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90036

(213) 655-1242

They do have an "800" number but I don't have it written down anywhere.
They ship all over the US and internationally, also. Give them a call. The
prices for cassettes are about $10 and CD's are $18-20.

I have two Ofra videos, both obtained at Hataklit, though they can also be
had from a few mail-order Judaica/Israeli music catalogues. Both have her
singing her songs in a concert setting and also in "music video" settings.
