[HANASHIR:3219] Re: upbeat Mi Chamocha

I think the D. Friedman Mi Chamocha I am thinking of is a different one
than Rachelle mentioned, and/but it's also very upbeat. I can't lay my
mitts on the LP (rememeber those, like CDs but larger, black and with
smaller holes) at the moment, so I can't listen to it, but I don't think
there was a HS choir on it. I also can't dredge up the name of the LP
it's on, but it's the one with the picture of her Bubbe on the front
lighting candles, and it also has her Miriam's Song and
by-now-well-known tune to Oseh Shalom on it. I think the Mi Chamocha
immediately precedes Miriam's Song on the album.

It's one of my favorites, and I often turn it into a "medley" (more a
segue actually) with Miriam's Song, with Miriam's Song "introducing" Mi
Chamocha. Works well IMHO and conveys the joy/wonder/awe we all must
have felt at the shores of the Sea....

If we were all at Sinai, were we also all at the Sea?

Shabbat shalom,

JS
