Adrian,

I purchased Finale last year at a local music store....if you are an educator,
the store gives you an educator's discount, so I paid just about half the
retail cost of the software....so it's worth asking the storeowner if they
give that type of discount....even if you only teach part-time....and by
teaching, I mean choir-directing, song-leading, classroom-teaching etc. I
don't think you necessarily have to be a "teacher" to receive an educator's
discount. They usually extend it to anyone who works in a "teaching" capacity.

Now, if I could only learn how to use it! I'd used Encore for a some music
publishing projects and after a few years was extremely frustrated by some of
its limitations. So I had heard about Finale and decided to try it....I
haven't really gotten much past the beginning of the tutorials, but I suspect
once I put some time into it, I'll learn how to use it. Good luck to all.
