Might I heartily recommend two shareware computer software programs that can
teach trope:

TropeMaster by Arthur Kayne

Art_Kayne (at) compuserve(dot)com


and WinTrope by George Kunstadt

76646(dot)626 (at) compuserve(dot)com

Both are Windows based and well worth a look. Mr. Kunstadt's program is
realtively new. I personally prefer TropeMaster, but Mr. Kayne has yet to
release an updated (32-bit)version of the software (though he says he is
working on it.)

For myself, the mechanism for preparing to leyn has often involved taking a
tikkun, transcribing the trope for the pesukim I am reading into musical
notation with Finale, and then, working with the tikkun and the notated
music, practicing.
