Rabbi Scheinberg, this is marvelous. I never even considered singing Dror
Yikra to Sloop John B.
You make me feel better about using alternative tunes.
My goal is to keep the kids coming back, and to have them feel good about
attending services. It becomes a weekly habit, REGARDLESS of which tunes are
sung.
By the way, where do people get the idea to try a specific melody with a
prayer? I am 46. Must I go back to camps to learn this? Or is it all trial
and error by songleaders?
Thanks, Brian
