RE: Jewish Folk Music?...Adon Olam, et al

Using the U of M fight song for Adon Olam may not be "...what God thinks
when God hears it..." but it is certainly à propos to the time I was
cantorial soloist in Flint, Michigan, and we had the misfortune of
having Rosh Hashana morning services fall on the U-M/Ohio State football
game day. While I would never think to use a secular melody in such an
irreverent way, it would have amused quite a few congregant/spectators
who were squriming in their seats waiting for the sermon to end so they
could get to the game.
