[HANASHIR:15473] Re: how much Hebrew? in what form?

I was a singer with no Hebrew background. I learned Hebrew using a set of
tapes / book called Olam Shalem. I was amazed it only took about 6 weeks,
practicing 10-30 minutes per day to be able to read Hebrew (slowly ). I'm
not sure where you get them. My Cantor let me borrow her set.
Prayer Book Hebrew the Easy Way is a good grammar book that helped me
understand the roots of words and tenses so I could understand what I was
singing about. It's published by EKS Publishing 1-877-7-HEBREW. I worked
through this book with a tutor. Most of the Hebrew classes I looked into
were conversational which is why I chose this route. Good luck to your
friend-
