Shalom,

These are two excellent suggestions. I also support this idea. Another way 
to introduce young children to an instrument is to find someone who can 
teach the ORFF method, with xylophones, glockenspiel's and metallophones - 
it makes for such an amazing orchestra and complete musical experience. Or 
perhaps just start with the xylophone.
