two ideas - one is an autoharp which is fairly easy to get music out of 
quickly - teaches chords - the other is to think about a baritone 
ukelele - it consists of the first four strings found on a guitar - 
then, when the child is a little older, and could handle the guitar 
neck, it should be fairly easy to add the extra fingers for the full 
guitar chords -
