Joanna:
Thank you so much for your suggestions. I have several questions now
that I have purchased the 1/8" plug. I plugged into the MD in the Line
in. Where does the other end go, into the mic? Also, when I bring up
Sound Forge, what are the steps to record from the MD? I would
appreciate the details!!
Thanks again!
Lynda

The way I've done it is through a program called Sound Forge, a
digital recording program that converts my music to wav files. I
just hook up the MD with an 1/8" plug to the computer, press play on
the MD, and record on the program. It's so easy! You can play with
the sounds, divide tracks, add reverb, etc. and burn a CD from the
recorded music in the usual way. The drawbacks: setting the levels
can be tricky...and I haven't figured out how to get a really nice
volume on the CD. It's mostly great, though!
There is one really expensive version of the program available for
something like $500, I was able to score it for $79, but it seems to
come as part of the system package on many PC computers.
