It's interesting that Irving Fields was a child actor in the Yiddish
theatre.
Of his 82 albums there are four that I know of that are Jewish music:
(1) Melody Cruise To Israel -- Irving Fields And His Trio [Oceanic OCP 516]
Side 1: Joseph, Joseph/Ich Hub Dir Tzuful Lieb/Israel Fiesta/Raisins and
Almonds/
I Like She/Dus Talesel/Tzena, Tzena
Side 2: Belz, Mein Shteitele Belz/Schein Vie Die Levuna/Bublitchki/
Zol Zein Mit Mazel/And The Angels Sing/Bei Mir Bist Du
Schon/Hatikva
(2) Bagels And Bongos -- Irving Fields Trio [Decca DL 78856]
Side 1: Where Shall I Go/Pretty As A Moonbeam/I Love You Much Too Much/
Havannah Negila/Raisins And Almonds/Mazeltov Merengue/
David's Dance (Reb Duvidel)
Side 2: Joseph! Joseph!/Little Shawl (Dus Talesel)/Belz/
Miami Merengue (Rabbi Eile Melech)/My Yiddishe Momme/Cha Cha No.
29/
Bei Mir Bist Du Schon
(3) More Bagels And Bongos -- Irving Fields Trio [Decca DL 74114]
Side 1: Mama's Mambo (Mama Bin Ich Farliebt)/I'll Always Be Yours (Mir
Zol Zain Far Dir)/
Hora Merengue/Say You Live Me, One More Time (Zing Es Mir Noch
Amuhl)/
Wedding Merengue (Wedding Samba)/
What Used To Be, Used To Be (Wus Geven Is Geven)
Side 2: I Want To Play (Ich Vil Sich Shpielen)/Spark Of Jewish Pride
(Dus Pintele Yid)/
The Greel Cousin--Merengue (Die Greene Kosina)/Papirossen/
My Hometown Girl (Mein Yiddishe Meidele)/Bublitchki
(4) Jewish American Songs For The Jet Set -- Songs By Moe Jaffe & Henry
Tobias,
Featured By Art Raymond, Sung By Bernie Knee, Music By Irving Fields
[Tikva T 101]
Side 1: Hava Nagila/Alef Beiz/Zei Gezunt/These Things Are Known/The
Center Song/
My Chanuka Candle Dream/My Heart Will Be With You
Side 2: Da-Ye-Nu/Chanuka Candles/I Remember Mama/
Orthodox, Conservative Or Reformed/Voice From The Past/
Passover Time On The Range
Of the four my favorite is "Melody Cruise To Israel". It has essentially
the same tunes as
the "Bagels and Bongos" albums but without the bongos. Each side of the
album was
recorded as a single-track medley so it has a nice flow to it.
