As an avid transcriber, let me second Roger Reid's comment about Transcribe.  
Roger introduced me to this software, and I'm very grateful to him.  It's 
easy to use, and has all the features that I could imagine needing (including a 
very effective EQ option).  

I should say that I have only used Transcribe, so I can't compare it to 
others.  But it is, as Roger says, amazing.
