Re: yemenite instruments



As to the tab'l (described in Helen's article as 'a cylindrical double
headed drum') Habreira Hativit (led by (Yemenite?) Shlomo Bar) appeared at a
local Yom Ha'atzmaut celebration a few weeks ago. He had a second
percussionist with him & I'm pretty sure she was playing a dhol- any of you
drum heads out there know the difference between a dhol and a tab'l? Or are
they basically the same?
