misinforming

> I don't suppose Ms. Isbin would intentionaly misinform her public,

Why not? I don't know her, but you wouldn't believe how many people have
BOTH knowingly and unknowingly misled their publics into thinking that
pieces are "ancient Sephardic melodies". There seems to be some odd,
irresistible temptation to do so in the "knowlingly" case and simple
ignorance in the "unknowingly" - and the ignorance in many cases, on the
part of people otherwise in fact very knowledgeable and fine musicians.
It's an ungoing mystery to me in the world of Sephardic music
performance and performance mythology. Judith
