Hi, dear friedns!
I 'd like to introduse u a new kezmer - group from Israel!
Folk group "FM" was created last year in Israel. It formed from experienced and
popular musicians of Israel. P.Levin - string player- soloist of Israel chamber
orchestra (Tel-aviv). U. Chernishev - guitar player- musician in jazz band of
Tel-aviv. A. Egorov - double bass-balalaika player, musician in Bar-Ilan
orchestra of east music. V. Fridman- popular player of national wind
instruments. A. Geyko- The leader of the group and compositions' writer. In the
past A. Geyko was a head of music group " Yarmarok "(in Ukraine), which was
playing in style of " world music". The power of all musicians in the group is
love to kleizmer music that everyone played alone and with groups a few years
ago.
The concert program of "FM" formed on Jewish folklore with elements Ukrainian,
Russian, Romanian, Moldavian, Greek and Turkish folklore. The peculiarity of
this group that tells the difference of playing kleizmer music is that there
are not only traditional instruments (string, guitar, clarinet, small drum),
the musicians use many other interesting ethnic instruments (wind instruments-
koval, fluer, Akkorini, Sopeli, Volinka, Halili, and drums- Darbuka, Lojki,
Buhalo, and many others). The musicians are known to stay in the same border of
kleizmer music, which is similar to Jewish art, always developing constantly.
Group "FM" interests in friendly contact with kleizmers' musicians, the often
