Re: reviews as news

I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to posting reviews and other news,
but I'm just that sharing type of person. I love reading about the
successes of our listmembers. Any success in this genre is a happy
moment for all of us, I think.

Reminds me of the story of Yom kiper when the elders and the pious are
about to fall down in front of the Ornkoydesh during the aleynu. The
rebe extols and praises the Lord: Oh Lord, your toyre is everlasting.
It has sustained and nurtured us. And what am I? Only a mortal man.
I am nothing, a gornisht...ikh bin a gornisht! Then he prostrates
himself before the Ark.

Next comes the khazen, who repeats: Oh Lord, your toyre is everlasting.
It has sustained and nurtured us. And what am I? Only a mortal man.
I am nothing, a gornisht...ikh bin a gornisht! Then he, too,
prostrates himself before the Ark.

Suddenly, the shamus runs from the back of the shul to the Ark and
repeats: Oh Lord, your toyre is everlasting. It has sustained and
nurtured us. And what am I? Only a mortal man. I am nothing, a
gornisht...ikh bin a gornisht! Then he, too, falls on his face before
the Ornkoydesh.

At that, the president nudges the vice-president and says: Gib a kuk af
dem shamus, er denkt az er iz oykh a gornisht! (Look at the shamus, he
thinks he's also a nothing!)

Frump-bump! Thank you ladies and germs.

Lorele
