Hi Eva,
I've been waiting for that book to come out for years (since they finished
writing it so long ago). The on-line article you sited is from February 2003
(just off the presses) so I'm pretty certain that the book is not yet available
since it's listed as "Forthcoming." I'll let you know when I hear that it's
out! I'm supposedly leaving for Israel to complete my doctoral diss. fieldwork
on Middle Eastern music there this month.
Sincerely,
Galeet

Hi everyone,
I just found an interesting article by Edwin Seroussi on the idea of "the
Mediterranean" in Israeli music:
http://www.muspe.unibo.it/period/ma/index/number7/seroussi/ser_00.htm
In the article he refers to the following forthcoming book:
Regev Motti and Edwin Seroussi.
Forthcoming. Popular Music and National Culture in Israel (University of
California Press).
Does anyone know if it has been published yet?
All the best, Eva
