And as far as Country Joe McDonald is concerned, RS advises that he was 
"named after Stalin by left-leaning parents", which would have its own, uh, 
masochistic logic, I suppose, if those parents were Jewish--but were they?  
"McDonald"?  Well, maybe his mother...?
