Yosl Kurland's first performances of Yiddish songs were at Hillel 
parties when he was a student at MIT.  Now, with the Wholesale 
Klezmer Band, he returns to MIT Hillel for his first Yiddish music 
performance there in 36 years.  The program will include traditional 
dance melodies, Yiddish songs both comic and serious, and klezmer 
arrangements of liturgical pieces.  You don't have to speak Yiddish 
to understand what the songs are about, and we'll lead you through 
the dancing too.  Perfomrances will feature music from Wholesale 
Klezmer Band's new album, "Zingen far Sholem, Tantsn far Freyd.-- 
Sing for Peace, Dance for Joy."

The MIT Student Center is on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, MA, 
diagonally across the street from the main entrance to MIT between 
Vassar Street and Memorial Drive.

Directions from Mass Pike heading east:
exit 18 (left exit, sign says Allston/Brighton/Cambridge)
after toll get into right lane, heading to Cambridge
go over the bridge into Cambridge, and keep straight, following the signs
to Central Square.
Turn right onto Massachusetts Ave.
go straight down Mass. Ave for about a mile.  After the train tracks, the
next street is Vassar St. The Student Center is on your right a 
little past Vassar Street.  Parking should be available in the lots 
off Vassar Street. (Permits not needed on Sundays.)
