Shimon and Nehama

I received two new CDs by French musicians Nehama Reuben and Shimon Reuben.
Nehama is a harpist and her new album, "La Harpe des Hebreux" is delightful
and more importantly today, relaxing. She has wonderful arrangements of
traditional Jewish standards including some Shlomo Carlbach and Israeli
melodies. It's completely instrumental and can be highly recommended to
women of every persuasion from Orthodox to new age. In the last few tracks,
she is accompanied by Shimon in jazzier versions of "Mit Yitneni" and
"Ashira". Shimon's music comes directly from standard American jazz,
although it's billed as "Israelian Jazz", the title of his album. The songs
are new and refreshing, but there is only a few sentences about them. The
booklet is in French with some English. There are a few arrangements of some
standards such as "Cuando El Rey Nimrod".
If you're looking for something soothing to listen to in these stressful
days, you may want to consider listening to these. He gives his distribution
as trhough FNAC www.fnac.com under musiques du monde
