Thanks Jonathon and Sam for posting these various links/articles. Yow,
creepy indeed!
On a related, but non-musical note, I've recently been reading Edwin Blacks'
very important book IBM and the Holocaust. He goes into great detail of how
IBMs' Thomas Watson did business with Nazi Germany both before and
throughout the war, how the organization and chilling precision of the
census taking and train schedules and thus extermination could not have been
done without IBMs' machines and punch card technology, and the great profits
realized by IBM in continuing to do business with the Nazis while looking
the other way. Highly recommended (and depressing) reading.
One more reason to be glad I'm using a Macintosh, although I'm sure sometime
in the future I'll come across some compelling reason why I shouldn't...
See you all later, I'm now going to proudly play some music that is both in
a mournful minor key AND contains significantly more than 10% syncopation.
