RE: The Zemel Choir, London UK



The notes for the Zemel's Sulzer Recording (Viennese Synagogue Music in the age 
of
Schubert) run to nine pages and include a biography of Sulzer and notes on all 
the
tracks.  For Kol Nidrei, they state that although there have been many vocal
arrangements Sulzer's was the earliest published version.  These notes were 
written by
the respected scholar and enthusiast Victor Tunkel, a collector of one of the 
finest
private libraries of Jewish Music, anywhere in the UK.  I am not sure who wrote 
the
liner notes for the Zemel Choir's Lewandowski  recording, which is not on the 
Jewish
Music Heritage Recordings Label.
